Manali: Day 6: Drive to Dharamshala

We checked out of our wonderful cottage and gave a goodbye to Manali.  We started our drive to Dharamshala, for a short one night stay, en route to Amritsar.  There wasn’t much to see or do on the way, so it was a straight 7 hour drive to Dharamshala.

We reached Dharamshala around 4pm.  Before heading to our hotel, we went to the cricket stadium.  This is reputed to be the highest stadium in India.

After spending a few minutes snapping photos, we headed to Roshan house, our hotel for the night.  This was a new hotel, and was very comfortable, though a bit far from town.  I would recommend staying here if you are looking for comfortable and clean accommodation, and a good breakfast.

For dinner, we headed to McLeod Ganj, and tried some Tibetan cuisine at Tibet Kitchen.  The food was delicious, and we massively overate.

Since we’d had a long drive, we went to bed early, and decided to check out the Buddhist attractions the next morning.
