Our plan for this day was to drive from Gudvangen, to the town of Lom to the north, for an overnight stop, before continuing to Geirangerfjord. We started off our drive by stopping at the Stegastein lookout, which offered amazing views of the nearby fjords.

Continuing our drive, the scenery was raw and spectacular. Every corner we turned seemed like a postcard!

We stopped for a picnic lunch that we’d packed, somewhere along Sognefjellvegen, which is a scenic route to Lom. There were some picnic tables and a gravel walking path.

Somewhere along the way, we had to take a car ferry (you drive the car onto the ferry to continue your road trip), to cross a fjord.

After the 4-5 hour drive to Lom, we reached our accommodation for the night – Kvaale Gard. This was a working farm and guesthouse, and we had booked a 1 bedroom apartment, which was amazing. The view out the kitchen was to die for!

Tomorrow, we continue our drive to Geirangerfjord, after stopping at some Lom sights!
